Stagename

Terms of service

Last updated 1 October 2026

Stagename (stagename.me) is run by Unit 4 Media Ltd, company number 09972217, registered office Kemp House, 152–160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. In these pages “we”, “us” and “Stagename” mean Unit 4 Media Ltd; “you” means the person who signs up.

1. What we provide

Stagename is a subscription service for creators. We: register a domain name in your name; host a personal site on that domain built from the photos and links you give us, which you can edit from your account; and, on the Center Stage and Backstage Pass plans, forward email sent to an address on your domain (for example hello@yourdomain) to an inbox you choose. Plan features and prices are shown in our pricing section at the time you buy. Features marked “coming soon” are not part of what you buy until they launch.

2. Who can use Stagename

3. Content rules

Your Stagename page must be safe for work: explicit images are not allowed, and we remove any we find. You may link to other platforms, including age-restricted ones; links we identify as sensitive are shown behind an 18+ confirmation. You must not use Stagename for anything unlawful, to impersonate anyone, to infringe anyone's rights, or to harass or deceive people. We may remove content or suspend a page that breaks these rules, and will tell you why.

4. Your domain

We register your domain through our registrar partner Openprovider (Hosting Concepts B.V.) with you as the registrant, meaning the legal holder, using the details you give us, with your contact details kept private where the domain ending allows. You agree to the registrar's terms and the rules of the registry for your ending, including dispute policies such as the UDRP or Nominet's DRS. You must keep your registration details accurate; registries may suspend domains with false details.

Some endings lock a domain against transfer for 60 days after registration or a change of holder. After that we'll give you the transfer code within 5 working days of asking, free of charge, whether or not you are still a subscriber. While you're subscribed, included endings (.com, .co.uk and .uk) renew within your plan. If you cancel or stop paying, your page goes offline at the end of your paid period, but the domain stays registered to you until its expiry date. To keep it after that, move it to another registrar before it expires (we'll give you the transfer code, as above); otherwise it lapses.

5. Prices, payment and renewal

Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through our payment provider Stripe, in the currency shown when you buy (pounds, euros, or US, Canadian or Australian dollars). Your plan price includes your domain: any .com, .co.uk or .uk is registered in your name and renews within your plan while you're subscribed. At checkout the first year's registration fee is shown as its own line (“includes domain registration”); it matters if you cancel in the first 14 days (section 6). We are not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.

6. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time: online at stagename.me/cancel (the “Cancel your contract here” link at the bottom of every page), from your account, or by emailing hello@stagename.me. Cancelling stops future payments; your page stays live until the end of the period you've paid for.

If you cancel within 14 days of buying, we refund what you paid, minus the domain registration fee once your domain is registered (and minus any premium domain or add-on ending charge once registered). After 14 days we don't give refunds, except where the law requires it, for example if something we provide doesn't work and we can't fix it. The details are in our refunds & cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Availability

We aim to keep pages online at all times but cannot promise uninterrupted service. We may change or improve features; if a change significantly reduces what you pay for, we will tell you and you may cancel with a refund of any unused prepaid period.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for loss of business or profit where you use Stagename for business purposes.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
